VGK@SJS: Fleury records fourth shutout of season

Marc-Andre Fleury made 24 saves for his NHL-leading fourth shutout, and the Vegas Golden Knights won their sixth consecutive game, 4-0 against the San Jose Sharks at SAP Center in San Jose on Saturday.

It is Fleury's 65th NHL shutout, one behind Patrick Roy for 15th place all-time. Fleury was the backup to Oscar Dansk on Friday in a 5-4 overtime win against the Sharks but had started the previous 10 games.
"I love playing, and I just take it as it goes," Fleury said. "I thought tonight I felt lots of energy, my legs were good. Some nights, it's like anybody who goes to the office. Some days you don't feel as good, and you've got to find a way to get the job done. I pride myself on being consistent."

VGK@SJS: Tuch's solo work puts Golden Knights up 2-0

Alex Tuch scored twice and has at least one goal in four straight games for the Golden Knights (16-4-1), who swept the two-game set. Vegas has outscored its opponents 25-11 in the streak.
Devan Dubnyk made 28 saves for the Sharks (8-11-3), who lost for the fifth time in six games. They are 1-4-1 on their seven-game homestand.
"I thought we took some water on early in the game," Sharks coach Bob Boughner said. "As the game wore on, I thought, not for lack of effort on our part, sustain-wise, we were one-and-done as a team."
Mark Stone scored at 15:02 of the first period, his second goal in three games, to give Vegas a 1-0 lead. He left at 13:12 of the second period with an undisclosed injury, but coach Peter DeBoer said keeping Stone out was more for precautionary reasons.
Prior to the goal, Fleury made the save against Joel Kellman on a breakaway at 14:32.
"He made some key saves," Sharks forward Dylan Gambrell said. "I think we could've used a little bit more traffic in front of him. He's a great goalie so we've got to get as many pucks to the net and traffic as we can."

VGK@SJS: Tuch extends Golden Knights' lead to 3-0

Tuch scored from the right circle after forcing a turnover in the neutral zone to make it 2-0 at 5:01 of the second period and increased the lead to 3-0 on a backhand at 16:38 after Brent Burns' attempt to clear the puck bounced off Logan Couture to Tuch.
Tuch, who tied Max Pacioretty for the Golden Knights lead with 12 goals, has eight goals in his past seven games.
"Honestly, probably a little bit of puck luck," Tuch said. "I just go out there and play my game, play hard, play fast. [My linemates] have been playing well, and they've been giving me opportunities to score, and I've just been capitalizing on it."
Reilly Smith scored at 11:03 of the third period for the 4-0 final.
Vegas improved to 11-1-3 in the regular season against San Jose.
"We used to have a pretty good rivalry. Now it's not as powerful as it was the first two years," Golden Knights forward Jonathan Marchessault said. "It's always good to get a win. We just came here and took care of business."
NOTES: Golden Knights defenseman Alex Pietrangelo took a shot to the arm late in the third period and will be evaluated. "Fingers crossed that it's nothing serious," DeBoer said. … Stone (two goals, eight assists) and Pacioretty (four goals, four assists) each extended their point streaks to four games. … Sharks forward Timo Meier was a late scratch with a lower-body injury. He is day to day. … San Jose forward Joachim Blichfeld served the second of a two-game suspension for a check to the head of Colorado Avalanche center Nathan MacKinnon on Wednesday.
