Winnipeg leads best-of-7 series 1-0
WINNIPEG --The Winnipeg Jets will look to take a 2-0 series lead in the Western Conference Final against the Vegas Golden Knights at Bell MTS Place on Monday.

Teams that take a 2-0 lead in the conference final (or NHL Semifinals) have won the series 39 of 41 times (95.1 percent) since 1975.

The Jets won 4-2 in Game 1 on Saturday, ending a two-game losing streak at home. Winnipeg has 37 home wins in 2017-18 (32 regular season, five playoffs) and is five victories shy of matching the NHL record for the most combined home wins in a single season. The Philadelphia Flyers set the record with 42 in 1975-76, and the Detroit Red Wings matched it in 1995-96.
Here are 5 keys for Game 1:

1. Stellar Scheifele

Jets forward Mark Scheifele leads the Stanley Cup Playoffs with 12 goals in 13 games.
He has 18 points, tied with Blake Wheeler for the Jets lead, after he had a goal and an assist in Game 1. He is the 16th NHL player with eight multipoint games through his team's first 13 playoff games and seventh to do so in the past 30 years.
Winnipeg's attack is deep, but Scheifele has been a driving force.
"That's Mark Scheifele, he's a great player," Jets forward Nikolaj Ehlers said. "A great guy. He's leading the way along with all the other guys and doing the right things. It's awesome seeing how well he's doing just helping this team win, and he's a pretty good leader off the ice too, so it's exciting."

2. Good start

The Golden Knights allowed three goals in the first 7:35 of Game 1 and know a repeat effort likely will end up in the same losing result.
"We've got to be ready from the start, that's crucial, and not let them get the momentum like they had in the first," forward William Karlsson said. "Winnipeg has a great a team, and if you're not ready, they're going to punish you like they did."

3. Thievery

The Jets had 10 takeaways in Game 1, including three by defenseman Dustin Byfuglien and one from Wheeler that helped set up Byfuglien's opening goal in the first period.
Taking better care of the puck is paramount for Vegas.
"They did an outstanding job intercepting our plays in the offensive attack," coach Gerard Gallant said. "When you turn over the pucks toward the offensive blue line, they're going to lead to odd-man rushes. Their first goal was an indication of that."

4. Fleury bouncing back

Golden Knights goalie Marc-Andre Fleury had a 1.53 goals-against average and .951 save percentage in 10 playoff games prior to Game 1, when he allowed four goals on 26 shots.
Fleury, 8-3 in the playoffs, has not lost back-to-back games in the postseason. In his two previous games after a loss, he has allowed three goals or fewer in each.

5. Tatar could return

Forward Tomas Tatar, who has been a healthy scratch for seven of Vegas' 11 playoff games, could return to the lineup for Game 2.
Tatar played in Games 1 and 2 in the first round against the Los Angeles Kings and Games 3 and 4 against the San Jose Sharks in the second round. He doesn't have any points in the playoffs but has nine points (three goals, six assists) in nine regular-season games against the Jets.
Oscar Lindberg is expected to be a healthy scratch if Tatar plays.
