Raffl has scored eight points (three goals, five assists) in 34 games this season. The forward is in the final season of a two-year contract he signed March 26, 2019, and can be an unrestricted free agent after the season.
The 32-year-old has scored 160 points (81 goals, 79 assists) in 504 regular-season NHL games and eight points (five goals, three assists) in 28 Stanley Cup Playoff games. The Flyers signed him May 31, 2013, after he had played eight professional seasons in his native Austria and Sweden.
"Just can't thank him enough for his eight years of service to this organization, a player that played well for us for many years, moved around our lineup, played left wing, center right wing, penalty kill," Flyers general manager Chuck Fletcher said. "Played hurt, played hurt a lot this year, he's hurt right now, almost refused to be taken out of the lineup. Hopefully Michael gets a chance to have a big role on the Capitals."
