TRENDING UP

Jonathan Bernier, COL (13 percent owned): With starter Semyon Varlamov sidelined because of a lower-body injury, Bernier has stepped up and played extremely well for the Colorado Avalanche. Since Dec. 31, Bernier is 4-0-0 with a .959 save percentage (five goals allowed on 121 shots). The next game for the Avalanche is at the Dallas Stars on Saturday, and there's a good chance Bernier will be in goal. The Avalanche have scored 3.27 goals-per game (fifth in the League), up from their last-place finish of 2.01 last season; they have at least four goals in six of their past 10 games. The fact that Varlamov is hurt and the Avalanche are scoring make Bernier an appealing and widely available option.
Marc-Andre Fleury, VGK (83 percent owned): The fact that Fleury is available in about one-sixth of leagues is surprising when you consider his numbers. He's gone 6-1-1 with a .956 save percentage after returning from a two-month absence because of a concussion. In 12 starts this season, he's allowed two or fewer goals 10 times, and has allowed more than three goals once. Fleury has a 1.75 GAA, .945 SV% and two shutouts and is a big reason the Vegas Golden Knights are in first place in the Western Conference. Fleury is always an injury risk; however, when he's on the ice he has outperformed preseason fantasy expectations.

TRENDING DOWN

Jake Allen, STL (97 percent owned): Allen has allowed five goals in each of his past two starts for the St. Louis Blues, at least three in six of eight and has been pulled in two of his past three. This stretch in which he's seen his GAA rise to 2.75 and his save percentage fall to .908 has meant more playing time for Carter Hutton (41 percent owned). Allen, who entered the season as a must-start, has fallen short of expectations, although he went through a similar stretch around the same time last season before turning it around. Hutton has started four of the past six games and is a handcuff for Allen owners. He's 8-3-1 with a 1.84 GAA and .940 SV%.
Matt Murray, PIT (97 percent owned): The Pittsburgh Penguins thought they had their No. 1 heading into this season in Murray, but he hasn't played like one. Murray is 15-12-1 with a 2.93 GAA and .903 SV% in 31 games. In 62 regular-season games the past two seasons, he was 41-12-5. In his past three, starts, he's allowed four goals in each and has yet to find his rhythm, even when healthy. The problem for the Penguins is rookie Tristan Jarry (17 percent owned) can't be trusted; he followed up a 31-save shutout against the New York Islanders on Friday by allowing five goals on 19 shots in 35 minutes of an eventual 6-5 win against the Boston Bruins on Sunday.
