TRENDING UP

Edmonton Oilers: Defenseman Oscar Klefbom leads the NHL at his position with 29 shots on goal in seven games since Oct. 20, center Connor McDavid ranks first in SOG over the span (31) and forward Ryan Nugent-Hopkins is tied for 11th (25). The Oilers power play, which ranked last in the NHL in 2017-18 (14.8 percent), is tied with the Colorado Avalanche for 13th this season (22.2). Wing Drake Caggiula (LW/RW; 1 percent owned in Yahoo) has four goals in his past four games and is skating on the top line with McDavid and Nugent-Hopkins.
St. Louis Blues: Forward Zach Sanford (C/LW; 3 percent) entered the top 200 rankings with seven points (three goals, four assists) in his past five games and is playing on the second line with center Ryan O'Reilly (15 points in 11 games). Forward Robby Fabbri (C/LW; 6 percent) had a point in his season debut against the Vegas Golden Knights on Thursday. Fabbri, who missed the past two seasons with multiple injuries, could join the top six if he continues to produce. Goalie Jake Allen has wins in three of his past five games after one win over his first five starts.

TRENDING DOWN

Chicago Blackhawks: Goalie Corey Crawford was 3-1-0 with a .946 save percentage in his first four starts, but is 0-2-0 with an .844 save percentage in the past two. Forward Nick Schmaltz has seven points (one goal, six assists) and is minus-5 in 13 games and is playing in the bottom six, making him droppable in season-long leagues. Left wing Brandon Saad has six points (three goals, three assists) in 14 games on a line with elite right wing Patrick Kane, who is tied for fifth in the NHL with 18 points in 13 games. The Blackhawks will need their secondary scorers to be more productive to improve their fantasy outlook.
Anaheim Ducks: Since Oct. 20, goalie John Gibson is 0-3-2 despite having the ninth best save percentage in the NHL (.923; minimum three games). Center Ryan Kesler doesn't have a point and is minus-5 in the past seven games. Outside of forwards Ryan Getzlaf, Rickard Rakell and Jakob Silfverberg, the Ducks lack reliable streaming options, but that could change when injured forwards Ondrej Kase, Corey Perry and Max Comtois return to the lineup. It was at least encouraging to see forward Patrick Eaves make his season debut Thursday.
