TRENDING UP

Adin Hill, ARI -- The Arizona Coyotes are without their top two goalies (Antti Raanta; Darcy Kuemper) because of injuries, but Hill has been excellent as a replacement. He has won four straight games allowing a combined two goals, highlighted by a 29-save road shutout against the Nashville Predators on Nov. 29. Although Raanta (lower body) could return soon, his injury history proves Hill (31 percent owned in Yahoo) is worth handcuffing or at least owning in the short-term as a standalone option.
Jake Allen, STL -- In Allen's past nine games, he's 3-4-1 with a .927 save percentage, proving he's not the main reason the St. Louis Blues aren't winning games. His goals-against average (3.16) and SV% (.899) remain underwhelming on the season, but Allen has at least improved in recent weeks and re-emerged as the starter with backup Chad Johnson allowing 19 goals in his four-game losing streak (0-4-0). Top defenseman Alex Pietrangelo (hand) is expected to be out long-term, so Allen will need to sustain his recent success to keep the Blues competitive.

TRENDING DOWN

Sergei Bobrovsky, CBJ -- The Columbus Blue Jackets goalie allowed eight goals on 26 shots faced in a 9-6 loss to the Calgary Flames on Tuesday. It was the second time this season he's allowed eight goals in a game (Oct. 13) and third time in four starts with at least three goals allowed. Bobrovsky's GAA (3.04) is alarmingly high and SV% (.901) low through 19 games (18 starts). He also doesn't have a shutout (five last season) and is on pace to finish outside the top 10 goalies.
David Rittich, CGY -- The Calgary Flames goalie has been dropped by more than 10 percent of his fantasy owners in the past two days after consecutive poor performances. He allowed four goals on 28 shots faced in a 4-3 loss to the Dallas Stars on Nov. 28 and then was pulled after allowing three goals on 14 shots in the first period against the Blue Jackets on Tuesday. Veteran Mike Smith (61 percent owned) has suddenly played in four of Calgary's past five games (4-0-0 with .916 SV% in span), putting him back on the fantasy map and making Rittich no longer a lineup lock.
