They go four forward lines deep, with multiple Stanley Cup winners on each line, including Pat Maroon on the fourth line. Maroon has won the Stanley Cup each of the past three seasons, including in 2019 with the St. Louis Blues.
Victor Hedman could be a finalist for the Norris Trophy, voted as the best defenseman in the NHL, for a sixth straight season. He's backed on the blue line by Ryan McDonagh, Mikhail Sergachev and Erik Cernak, each a two-time champion with the Lightning like Hedman.
Then there is the coaching staff, led by Jon Cooper, the longest tenured coach with his current team in the NHL (hired March 25, 2013). Tampa Bay is 70-46 in the playoffs under Cooper, who has the same assistants as last season: Jeff Halpern, Derek Lalonde and Rob Zettler.
The Lightning have continuity throughout their lineup and coaching staff. They know how to win at this time of the year. They will continue to do so, 16 more times.
