The 33-year-old forward was limited to 14 regular-season games because of an injury last season, getting seven points (four goals, three assists). He had nine points (three goals, six assists) in 15 Stanley Cup Playoff games for Vegas, which lost in six games to the Carolina Hurricanes in the Stanley Cup Final.
Karlsson is in the final season of an eight-year, $47.2 million contract ($5.9 million AAV) he signed with Vegas on June 24, 2019. He could have become an unrestricted free agent on July 1, 2027.
One of the original Golden Knights, Karlsson ranks third in franchise history in games played (570) and assists (238), and second in goals (165) and points (403). He ranks first with 15 short-handed goals and 26 short-handed points.
Karlsson is also second in playoff games (121), and third in goals (34) and points (80). In 2023, Karlsson had 17 points (11 goals, six assists) in 22 playoff games to help the Golden Knights win the Cup.
