Connor records a 4 point night in a 6-4 victory

CHICAGO --The Winnipeg Jets scored four straight goals in the second period before holding on to defeat the Chicago Blackhawks 6-4 at United Center on Sunday.

Jansen Harkins scored twice for his first multigoal game in the NHL, and Kyle Connor had a goal and three assists for Winnipeg (29-24-10), which has won three of four. Connor Hellebuyck made 32 saves.
"I thought there were a lot of momentum swings," Jets coach Dave Lowry said. "I like the way we started. We let them back in the game, and we grinded out a win, found a way to hold on.
"We had some opportunities, they had some opportunities. Our goalie made some timely saves tonight for us."

Taylor Raddysh and Dylan Strome each had a goal and an assist, and Patrick Kane had two assists for Chicago (22-32-9), which has lost three straight and six of eight (2-5-1). Marc-Andre Fleury made 26 saves.
Blackhawks coach Derek King acknowledged that the 2022 NHL Trade Deadline on Monday could be weighing on the players' minds.
"Yeah, I just kind of yapped at the guys a little bit at the end, just saying, 'Good job coming back in the third,'" he said. "We started playing the game right, but going in the rest of the way, this is on us. We have to compete and play the right way for three periods, and we didn't do that tonight. We cheated it, and that cost us.
"So that's on us as a whole, not just the players. It's on everybody. So going forward, I told them, [trade talks are] out of our control. We'll see what happens, and whoever's here, we're going to compete and play the right way."

WPG@CHI: Strome puts home a feed from Kane in tight

Nikolaj Ehlers gave the Jets a 1-0 lead at 9:14 of the first period on a wraparound.
Jonathan Toews tied it 1-1 at 1:13 of the second period when he redirected a centering pass from Raddysh, and Strome scored 23 seconds later off a give-and-go with Kane to make it 2-1.
Harkins quickly responded to tie it 2-2 at 2:15, deflecting Dylan DeMelo's point shot. He then put Winnipeg back in front 3-2 at 11:13 when he tapped in a cross-ice pass from Andrew Copp at the left post.
"It all feels good," Harkins said. "I think we started off well. The first period, we were playing the right way as a line. We had a few chances, and I think we were just skating really well. I think we were just kind of jelling, and you kind of saw that as the game went on. We were feeling good and skating."

WPG@CHI: Harkins puts one home at the side of the net

Connor made it 4-2 at 17:36 with his NHL career-high 39th goal of the season. He scored on a one-timer from the right circle on the power play after Fleury had lost his glove earlier in the play.
"Put in a lot of work, so when the results come, I'm not surprised," Connor said. "It's just a function of a lot of hard work and being ready for the opportunity when it presents itself. Feeling confident, feeling ready."
Josh Morrissey extended the lead to 5-2 at 19:36 on a one-timer from high slot off pass from below the goal line by Mark Scheifele.
Raddysh made it 5-3 at 3:25 of the third period when he took a pass from Kane and shot glove side from the slot on the power play.
Raddysh was playing in his second game with Chicago since being acquired in a trade with the Tampa Bay Lightning for forward Brandon Hagel on Friday.
"Yeah, good for him," Blackhawks forward Alex DeBrincat said. "I think he shows he can make plays and probably didn't get much of a chance in Tampa. Hopefully he gets a better chance here."

WPG@CHI: Raddysh gets a pass in the slot and nets PPG

Philipp Kurashev cut it to 5-4 at 13:00, taking a drop pass from Sam Lafferty and beating Hellebuyck short side from the left circle, but Blake Wheeler shot into an empty net at 18:51 for the 6-4 final
NOTES:Jets forward Jeff Malott had three hits in 4:06 of ice time in his NHL debut. … Connor extended his point streak to an NHL career-high seven games (six goals, nine assists).
