Kings stretch point streak to 11 games with 4-1 win

LOS ANGELES -- The Los Angeles Kings tied their record by getting a point in an 11th straight game, defeating the Winnipeg Jets 4-1 at Crypto.com Arena on Saturday.

It is the fourth time the Kings have had a point streak this long. They are 9-0-2 during the current run.
"I think that for the majority of these games we've won, we've kind of outplayed the other team for almost 60 minutes, and that's an important thing to be able to do, to take into the playoffs," said Los Angeles defenseman Drew Doughty, who had a goal and an assist. "So I really like the way we've playing right now, but we got to keep it going as the playoffs approach."
Viktor Arvidsson scored twice, and Joonas Korpisalo made 25 saves for the Kings (42-20-10), who have not allowed more than two goals in regulation in any of their past 10 games.
"That is something that we can hang our hats on and that we're pleased about," Los Angeles coach Todd McLellan said. "We feel like we've got to protect the goaltenders and help them out."

WPG@LAK: Doughty scores in 3rd period

The Kings remained four points behind the Vegas Golden Knights for first place in the Pacific Division and increased their lead on the Edmonton Oilers to three points for second. Vegas defeated Edmonton 4-3 in overtime Saturday.
Pierre-Luc Dubois scored a power-play goal, and Connor Hellebuyck made 25 saves for Winnipeg (41-30-3).
The Jets are four points ahead of the Calgary Flames for the second wild card into the Stanley Cup Playoffs from the Western Conference. Calgary defeated the San Jose Sharks 5-3 on Saturday.
"I think everyone is frustrated right now," Dubois said. "Everyone wants to win. We can't drop too many points. It was a big game for us to see where we're at. We did some good things but can do a lot better."

WPG@LAK: Arvidsson nets opening goal from the circle

Arvidsson gave the Kings a 1-0 lead 1:22 into the first period with a wrist shot through traffic from the left circle following a face-off win by Trevor Moore.
Alex Iafallo made it 2-0 on a power play at 5:28 of the second period. He was at the left post to chip in Phillip Danault's pass through the slot.
Dubois cut it to 2-1 at 18:37 on a wrist shot from the left circle during a five-minute power play. Los Angeles center Blake Lizotte had received a match penalty and game misconduct for cross-checking Winnipeg defenseman Josh Morrissey at 14:10.
Doughty extended the lead to 3-1 at 27 seconds of the third period on a wrist shot from the outer edge of the right circle. It was Doughty's fourth goal in his past five games, giving him seven this season.
"I definitely looked at my goal total and was like, 'Eh, I'm not going to do worse than my first year in the League (six goals in 81 games in 2008-09).' Haven't been happy about it all year," Doughty said. "You get hot at times, and obviously I'm a little bit hot right now scoring goals. So it feels good to finally get back on the score sheet, but I don't want to waste them all before the playoffs come, that's for sure."

WPG@LAK: Iafallo nets a PPG from the crease

Arvidsson scored into an empty net at 18:24 for the 4-1 final.
"They're a team that if you get down by a couple, they are hard to play against," Morrissey said. "We gave up a couple goals off face-offs. You don't want that to happen. A couple little details either way is the difference."
