Laurent Brossoit made 17 saves for his first shutout of the season when the Winnipeg Jets defeated the Seattle Kraken 3-0 at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle on Friday.

“LB's been outstanding for us all year,” Winnipeg coach Rick Bowness said. “We have as much confidence in him as we do [Connor Hellebuyck]. We're fortunate to have two outstanding goaltenders who do a fantastic job for us."

Mark Scheifele, Adam Lowry and Nikolaj Ehlers scored for the Jets (40-17-5), who are 7-2-0 in their past nine games.

"We did a much better job of protecting the middle of the ice,” Bowness said. “Our forwards did a great job of backtracking for the most part and putting pressure on them, and our [defensemen] were able to stand up. For the most part, we were forcing them to dump the puck in so that means we were doing a good job in the neutral zone."

Joey Daccord made 29 saves for the Kraken (28-24-11), who lost for a second time in six games (4-2-0).

Seattle won 4-3 at Winnipeg on Tuesday.

"We didn't have a lot of energy tonight,” Seattle coach Dave Hakstol said. “We just couldn’t find that burst of energy to get us going on the right track in terms of momentum. You saw that momentum really turn in the second period.”

Scheifele gave the Jets a 1-0 lead at 7:15 of the third period. After Josh Morrissey saved the puck at the blue line to keep it in the Kraken zone, Vladislav Namestnikov set Scheifele up at the side of the net, where he quickly circled to the slot and scored five-hole.

“I was able to hold the line and give him a shot at an opportunity to score,” Morrissey said. “His instincts for the game and instincts to find the quiet ice -- all the best players in the League do it -- make it seem like they are wide open when everyone is keying in and trying to find them. So it’s a real skill and he’s great at that.”

Daccord said, “I think the first goal is always important, especially when you get through the first two periods scoreless. It’s going to be a big momentum boost for whoever scores it. Obviously, they got it and just kept going from there. It's tough but we've got to bounce right back.”

Lowry extended it to 2-0 at 11:28, jamming in a rebound after Nino Niederreiter drove the puck to the net.

“I think that’s a testament to the coaching staff, some adjustments we made,” Lowry said of rebounding to win the second half of the home-and-home. “We’re an elite defensive team. We gave up a lot of odd-man rushes and uncharacteristic plays (on Tuesday) that we can’t afford to give up later on in the season. Some different adjustments like that I think was huge. There was a big kill for us at the end of the game -- that’s the difference for us tonight.

“Last game, they get a power play and they score the winner. Tonight we’re able to not really give up any chances on it. Kind of hold serve, keep the score in our favor and then ice the game away.”

Ehlers scored into an empty net at 19:10 for the 3-0 final.

“I think they executed their game plan well, they got to the net,” Daccord said. “They’re a hardworking team. They have a lot of skilled players, so it was obviously a tight checking game. Not a lot of chances to go either way. I thought we played well, I thought they played well. It just came down to a couple chances and it’s unfortunate we couldn’t get a couple points out of it.”
