WPG@VAN: Dubois beats defender and roofs OT winner

VANCOUVER --Pierre-Luc Dubois scored his second goal of the game 27 seconds into overtime to give the Winnipeg Jets a 4-3 win against the Vancouver Canucks at Rogers Arena on Sunday.

Dubois also had an assist after being held without a point in his first two games with Winnipeg since being acquired in a trade from the Columbus Blue Jackets on Jan. 23.
After missing the previous four games with a lower-body injury, Dubois scored his first goal off a cross-ice pass from Blake Wheeler at 14:37 of the second period to make it 2-1. He skated around forward Brock Boeser in overtime before shooting over goalie Braden Holtby's blocker from the bottom of the left face-off circle.
"It feels good," Dubois said. "To finally get out there and play, and then get that nice pass from 'Wheels' and just score, it kind of felt like a weight off my shoulders and then the rest of the game to keep applying that pressure and keep getting better."

WPG@VAN: Scheifele follows up rebound to tie the game

Mark Scheifele had a goal and two assists to extend his point streak to 10 games, and Connor Hellebuyck made 31 saves for the Jets (11-6-1), who swept a two-game set against the Canucks after a 2-0 win Friday. Winnipeg has won seven straight games in Vancouver.
Elias Pettersson scored his second goal of the night for the Canucks with a one-timer on the power play to tie it 3-3 with 38 seconds left in the third period and Holtby pulled for an extra attacker.
"It's strong of us to come back and tie the game, but we had a lead going into the third," Pettersson said. "We had the game in our hands and we kind of let it go."
Holtby made 27 saves for the Canucks (8-12-2), who are 2-7-2 in their past 11 games.
"That was an emotional loss for our guys," coach Travis Green said.
Brandon Sutter gave Vancouver a 1-0 lead at 3:28 of the first period after a bounce off the glass caught Hellebuyck moving the wrong way.
Pettersson made it 2-0 at 15:40 when, with his back to the net, he batted a bouncing puck between his legs on his backhand.
"I just tried to get the puck quick to the ice and bat it in, and it went home," Pettersson said.

WPG@VAN: Wheeler sets up Dubois' first goal with Jets

Dubois had to quarantine for 14 days after the trade before he could join the Jets. After playing his first two games at his natural center position before getting injured in practice Feb. 12, he returned Sunday at left wing on a line with Scheifele and Wheeler, who had three assists.
"They're two really smart players with the puck, without the puck," Dubois said. "There's not much that both of them can't do on the ice, so you see the chemistry they have and try to read off them, try to be in the right spot."
Scheifele scored for a fifth straight game to tie it 2-2 at 5:43 of the third period with a wrist shot off the rush from the right face-off dot that trickled through Holtby.
"I thought we played a pretty good game," Holtby said. "Myself, I just have to be better."

WPG@VAN: Pionk blisters go-ahead goal on power play

Scheifele has 16 points (seven goals, nine assists) during his streak, which matches his longest in the NHL, set March 22-April 9, 2016, but he was more excited about playing with Dubois.
"He was awesome," Scheifele said. "We skated together yesterday in practice, feeling pretty good and he was fun to play with. Skilled, big, does everything. It was fun to get a game with him and excited to have him back in the lineup, but boy, he's fun to play with."
Neal Pionk put the Jets ahead 3-2 at 10:37 when he scored on the power play with a one-timer from the top of the left circle off a Dubois pass.
NOTES: Winnipeg defenseman Tucker Poolman didn't play in the third period because of an upper-body injury. … Canucks forward Zack MacEwen had two shots on goal, two hits and a fighting major in 6:09 in his first game back after being scratched the previous four.
