Describe your job in 2-3 sentences: I oversee the daily team schedule at home and on the road. Assist all hockey ops personnel with requests. It's impossible to sum up my job in three sentences, since every day is different and brings its own challenges.
What was your first-ever job, and did it prepare you for the work you do today?
I was a skate guard and pro shop sales at a collegiate arena. Working for an arena with a Division I hockey team did prepare me for my job today. In addition to my normal duties, I worked around eight weeks of hockey school each summer which requires a lot of organization. I also knew the game having been around it for so long.
What's the best piece of career advice you've ever been given, or what advice do you like to give others?
While the hockey world seems big, it is actually very small. You must have a great work ethic and high-quality work to advance your career. Attention to detail is very important.
What sports did you play, and enjoy most or least, growing up?
I played tennis, volleyball, basketball, and ran track. Tennis is my favorite. I have played for years and still love it.
