Yaroslav Askarov must always be looking for an excuse to get some extra weightlifting in.
After a 45-save shootout victory for the Milwaukee Admirals, the AHL affiliate of the Nashville Predators, the Admirals goalie broke out a unique celebration. Askarov secured the 2-1 shootout win for his team, then laid down on the ice, pulled the net over himself and started bench pressing the crossbar.
You can say he's raising the bar for goalie celebrations. His 45 saves were a season-high for the goalie. Askarov did five reps before getting up to celebrate with his teammates. That's good enough for a PR in our books.
