BOS@NYR: Zibanejad and Marchand have pregame standoff

Two ultra competitors went at it in an epic duel that lasted way longer than your average contest. And that was before the game even started.

New York Rangers forward Mika Zibanejad and Boston Bruins forward Brad Marchand each refused to leave the Madison Square Garden ice first after warmups on Friday.
There was kneeling. There was standing on one leg. There was staring.
Finally, after over four minutes of neither warrior giving in to the other, they settled it the way on the most fearless can: Rock, Paper, Scissors.
This kind of thing is
not unprecedented
, of course.
Zibanejad threw rock. Marchand threw scissors. You know the rest.
The Rangers actually made a pretty great old west style showdown video of the standoff.

Kudos to Marchand for the effort, but it wouldn't be enough on this day. Bonus points to Zibanejad for the dismissive handwave after the R-P-S victory.
Keep this in your memory bank. These two teams play each other again two weeks from tonight.
