The Oilers Rookie Writers contest in partnership with the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation returns for its second season!

Using the story template provided below, we invite kids aged 8 - 13 years old in Oil Country to write a short fictional story telling us what you love about being an Oilers fan! You can write about the Oilers players, yourself, Hunter or Rogers Place! The submitted story should be 500 words or less.

The deadline to enter this contest is Sunday, November 17 at 11:59 pm MT.

Grand Prize Winner

The Grand Prize winner of the Rookie Writers Contest will have their short story animated and shown on the scoreboard before the Oilers Fan Appreciation game on Monday, April 14. The winner will also receive four tickets to attend the game with their family along with a meet and greet with Oilers mascot, Hunter the Lynx!

Additional Winners

Secondary winners of the Rookie Writers Contest will receive two tickets to upcoming games throughout the remainder of the season.
