EDMONTON, AB - Oilers Head Coach Ken Hitchcock sees his group as 'resilient', not fragile as the team look to break a four-game losing streak that stretches back to December 16.
"I hate the word fragile," Hitchcock said to the media on Friday afternoon. "That's a weak word for me, because to me as a coach that's a sign you can't go the distance. Our starts are a problem, not going the distance.
"To me, fragile is a bad word because it means you're not competitive, and we're anything but that."
Hitchcock takes his customary spot on the bench every practice, constantly communicating to his players to help rectify past mistakes and help put his tactical stamp on the Oilers. A four-game losing streak hasn't dampered his players' enthusiasm to adapt as a group and elevate their game.
