EDMONTON, AB - No, Jack. The pleasure's been ALL ours.
Oilers play-by-play Jack Michaels called his 1,000th NHL game as the voice of the Edmonton Oilers on 630CHED and Sportsnet in Tuesday's 4-2 defeat of the Philadelphia Flyers.
Over 13 years in Edmonton, Michaels' play-by-play has become synonymous with hockey in Oil Country with his high-energy delivery to one of hockey's most ravenous and attentive fanbases.
From Meadville, Pennsylvania, Michaels joined the Oilers organization as play-by-play voice for the club on the Oilers Radio Network prior to the start of the 2010-11 NHL season after calling games for the ECHL's Alaska Aces for eight years. In January 2021, Michaels added Sportsnet regional broadcasts to his portfolio, echoing his voice to an even bigger audience for even bigger calls.
