EDMONTON, AB - After four pre-season appearances with the Oilers, defenceman Jakub Jerabek is finding his form.
The 27-year-old Czech blueliner played 15:37 in a 6-0 win against the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday night alongside Jason Garrison, who along with Jerabek is competing for one of the few remaining Oilers defensive spots as a professional tryout (PTO).
The incremental adjustments for Jerabek are showing through four pre-season tests, admitting it took time to settle into his new surroundings with new teammates.
"I think I've had some tough games, but I've had good moments too," Jerabek said on Wednesday. "We're getting to know each other. There's more of an adjustment knowing who each other are, what guys are doing and what their habits are, so that is the main thing."
The pairing of Jerabek and Garrison combined for seven blocks and two shots, even earning time on the penalty kill.
"There's good guys here and very good competition," Jerabek added. "[Garrison] is an experienced guy. We had a good game and helped each other a lot."
