Klefbom_Main Camp_2018

EDMONTON, AB - It's a common theme for veterans to pass on their experience to rookies.
Asked if any fresh faces have stood out to him, defenceman Oscar Klefbom had one that he'd been watching closely after the first two Oilers Main Camp scrimmages.
"As a Swede I've looked a little extra at [William Lagesson] and he's looked really good," the Karlstad, Sweden, product said of the Gothenburg, Sweden product.
Lagesson comes into camp with a season in the Swedish Hockey League with Djurgärdens IF under his belt, which can help the 22-year-old transition to the pro game in North America more seamlessly, says Klefbom.
"He's been playing really good hockey back home in Sweden and he's a very good guy on and off the ice," Klefbom said. "Hopefully he can get a shot this year in the NHL. It's a big step playing in Sweden and down in Bakersfield before coming here to the NHL. The game is so much faster and it takes a little while to adapt, but I think he's going to be just fine."
Providing guidance for a prospect like Lagesson is the continuation of a leadership chain that began for Klefbom when he started making strides as an Oiler back during the 2013-14 NHL season.
