EDMONTON, AB - Connor McDavid wasted no time on Friday.
The Oilers captain picked up an assist on the team's first goal on Friday night at Rogers Place, a Ryan Nugent-Hopkins power-play tally at the 7:52 mark of the opening period, to record his 100th point of the season in just 56 games.
The 26-year-old phenom hit the century mark for the sixth time in his eight-year career, and it could have easily been his seventh as he came up just three points short in the pandemic-shortened 2019-20 campaign that held him to 64 games. He also recorded 48 points during his injury-shortened, 45-game rookie season in 2015-16.
