EDMONTON, AB - Oilers Head Coach Todd McLellan noted the difference in the implementation of waiver acquisitions Brandon Davidson and Nathan Walker into the Oilers lineup Tuesday after practice.
"In my opinion, we don't have to integrate Davey," McLellan said. "He's probably more comfortable here than even in Montreal. He's spent more time here. He understands our demeanour as a coaching staff, his teammates. He gets the team, the community and environment. There's not a desperate need to integrate him."
There was a difference when commenting on Walker's deployment.
"Nathan, on the other hand, is a player that's taking in a lot over the past two days," said McLellan. "We'll make some lineup decisions tonight and tomorrow."
McLellan noted his tendency to keep a lineup the same after a victory, which could be the case Wednesday against the Philadelphia Flyers.
"I'm often one to reward the group that got the job done the night before," he said. "That's not a slight on Nathan or Davey if they don't go tomorrow."
