EDMONTON, AB -It goes without saying that winning changes everything.
After a rough start to the season, the Oil find themselves one win back of .500 with one game left before the holiday break. They sit at 16-17-2, with five wins in their last seven games - currently on their first three-game win streak of the season.
"We're feeling good about ourselves and we're looking forward to going into a game tomorrow, a huge game for us and a chance to go back to .500," said Connor McDavid.
Obviously, the mood around the team is different now than it was at the start of this streak of good games. The locker room has a different vibe.
"I think it has changed," said Mark Letestu. "Earlier on in the year, you're trying to will yourself to it. You keep the positive talk, you're trying not to let things sag and get to far behind. Now that guys are getting results they're feeling better about themselves, the process is working - the little things we talk about, whether it's structure or taking care of the details. When you start to get results, you can see guys buying in further, which is the level we want to get to. Trust in each other and the system. Because of that, we're a tough team to play against."
