BLOG: Oilers continue to hit milestones in Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH, PA - Another day, another long list of Oilers milestones.
After all three of Connor McDavid, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Leon Draisaitl reached new milestones on the same play in Tuesday's win over Philadelphia, the trio of Oilers forwards were back at it again in Pittsburgh notching three more in Thursday's 7-2 win over the Penguins at PPG Paints Arena.
The Dynamic Duo of Draisaitl and McDavid combined to hit the 700- and 800-point marks of their respective careers on Draisaitl's third-period power-play goal earlier this week, and their pair of notable goals in the first frame in Pittsburgh had Edmonton playing confidently in the driver's seat at the intermission.
The Oilers fell behind 1-0 off an early Kris Letang goal before McDavid orchestrated a beauty from below the goal line off the name bar of Tristan Jarry to tie the game and reach a new career-high with his 45th goal -- beating his 44-goal output from 2021-22 with 23 games remaining in the regular season.
Late in the third period, a spectacular move on a penalty shot stretched McDavid's career high to 46 goals and the scoreline to 7-1 in favour of the Oilers.
