EDMONTON, AB - The Oilers have loaned defenceman Theodor Lennstrom to Frolunda HC of the Swedish Hockey League for the 2020-21 season.
Lennstrom, 25, signed an entry-level contract with the Oilers on April 29 after completing his fourth season in the SHL, which was his first campaign with Frolunda, with whom he posted 15 points (3G, 12A), 10 penalty minutes and a +9 plus-minus rating in 31 games.
He also helped Frolunda capture the Champions Hockey League title, where he led all defencemen with three goals. Lennstrom made his debut in the SHL in 2013-14, with AIK.
The 6'1", 190-pound blueliner has appeared in 151 career SHL games, registering 59 points (11G, 38A), 70 penalty minutes and a +22 plus-minus rating. The native of Stockholm also played three seasons in the Swedish Allsvenskan League, two with BIK Karlskoga and one with AIK.
