EDMONTON, AB - The National Hockey League Trade Deadline has passed.
On Monday, Oilers President of Hockey Operations Ken Holland acquired forwards Andreas Athanasiou and Ryan Kuffner from the Detroit Red Wings in exchange for Sam Gagner and Edmonton's own second-round draft pick in 2020 and Edmonton's own second-round pick in 2021. In addition, the Oilers will retain 10% of Gagner's salary.
The Oilers also acquired Ottawa Senators forward Tyler Ennis for a 5th round draft pick in 2021.
In Edmonton's third deal on Monday, the club acquired goaltender Angus Redmond and a conditional seventh-round draft pick in 2022 from Anaheim in exchange for defenceman Joel Persson. The draft pick to Edmonton is conditional on Persson appearing in at least 25 NHL regular season games in 2020-21. Redmond will be remaining with Newfoundland (ECHL).
On Sunday, the Oilers acquired defenceman Mike Green from the Detroit Red Wings in exchange for Kyle Brodziak and a conditional draft pick.
