BOSTON, MA - The Edmonton Oilers were back on the ice Wednesday, practicing at Warrior Ice Arena following Tuesday's 4-2 decision to the Detroit Red Wings. The club will have a busy next two days with a back-to-back beginning Thursday against the Boston Bruins and then Friday versus the Buffalo Sabres.
Head Coach Dave Tippett provided status updates on goaltender Mike Smith and forward Zack Kassian. "Day-to-day with a lower-body injury. He didn't skate today but got some treatment. We'll see where he is tomorrow," Tippett said of Kassian.
Added Tippett regarding Smith: "He had a good practice today but I haven't talked to the trainers since practice, so we'll see where he gets to in the next couple of days. It's a good sign that he's been on (the ice) two days in a row practicing with the group."
