EDMONTON, AB - The points are piling up among Oilers forward prospects.
For the fourth time this season, Edmonton's fourth-round, 100th-overall selection from the 2020 NHL Draft Carter Savoie has been selected as the National Collegiate Hockey Conference's player of the week. The University of Denver sophomore scored two goals and two assists as the Pioneers won both their games against rival Colorado College this past weekend.
The St. Albert native has 20 goals and 20 assists in 32 games this season, tying him for sixth in the NCAA in goals and 10th in points. The top-seeded Pioneers (also ranked third in the nation) will take on the eighth-seeded Miami (Ohio) RedHawks this weekend in the NCHC quarterfinals.
