EDMONTON, AB - The Oilers have loaned defensive prospect Dmitri Samorukov to CSKA Moscow of the KHL for the 2020-21 season.
The 21-year-old completed his first professional season in 2019-20, suiting up in 47 games with the AHL's Bakersfield Condors and contributing two goals with eight assists.
Edmonton selected Samorukov 84th overall at the 2017 NHL Draft from the OHL's Guelph Storm. The offensive rearguard had an exceptional final season of major junior in 2018-19, scoring 45 points in 59 regular season games, as well as 28 points in 24 playoff games as the Storm captured the OHL title.
The native of Volgograd, Russia suited up at the 2018 and 2019 World Juniors.
