EDMONTON, AB - Oilers prospect and Spruce Grove product Reid Schaefer has been selected as one of the 22 players who'll represent Team Canada at the upcoming IIHF World Junior Championship in Halifax and Moncton.
The 2022 first-round pick of the Oilers earns his spot after taking part in Team Canada's World Junior selection camp that included 5-2 and 3-2 victories over the U SPORTS all-stars, having recorded 27 points and a team-high 15 goals in 22 WHL games for the Seatle Thunderbirds.
