Perry & the Oilers eye a fourth straight win tonight in St. Louis

OVERTIME

2:51: The Blues win it. Brandon Saad slides home a breakaway five-hole under Skinner after jumping right off the bench to go in alone and win St. Louis a vital extra point in the playoff race. The Blues now trail the Kings by three points for the second Wild Card spot with seven games left. The Oilers have their three-game win streak snapped with the 3-2 defeat and will be back in action on Wednesday in Dallas.

5:00: Overtime has begun!

THIRD PERIOD

0.0: Parayko makes a big block on Ekholm's last-gasp chance in regulation. We're going to overtime where both teams are 10-4 this season.

5:25: THIS GAME IS TIED! Draisaitl bangs home his 39th goal of the season and records his 99th point at the back door off a beautiful move by McDavid around Colton Parayko along the wall. 2-2.

Draisaitl delivers the equalizer off a great move by McDavid

5:56: Ekholm centres a pass into the blue paint for Hyman, but he can't slide it under Binnington! What a chance for Edmonton's leading goalscorer to even this up.

8:52: Neighbours drives hard to the net but Skinner stops the former Oil King to keep Edmonton's comeback hopes afloat.

17:12: Tucker drills McDavid right off the faceoff and takes a roughing penalty. The Oilers are heading to the power play for the second time.

18:16: Schenn again. St. Louis make it 2-1 on an odd-man break.

20:00: The third period is underway! St. Louis starts on the four-on-three power play for 28 seconds.

SECOND PERIOD

0.0: AFTER 2 | Edmonton 1, St. Louis 1. The two points are in the balance after a crazy second period where St. Louis outshoots Edmonton 18-14 and equalize on the power play through Schenn, while Edmonton has one waved off for Nugent-Hopkins.

44.6: Edmonton will be down four-on-three for the rest of the second period on a Draisaitl tripping penalty.

1:32: Carrick and Buchnevich are off for coincidental cross-checking calls. McDavid and Draisaitl are out there for four-on-four.

3:54: Bouchard makes a vital interception on a short-handed odd-man rush by the Blues, taking away Buchnevich's back-door pass.

4:30: Connor McDavid goes down in a heap behind the St. Louis net and it's Jordan Binnington taking the tripping call. He knew he was stuck on the near post and wouldn't have been able to cover the wrap-around. Edmonton heads to their first power play!

6:53: \\Skinner with a \CLUTCH** stop on Alexey Toropchenko off a saucer pass through by Pavel Buchnevich. He tried to redirect it five-hole, but Skinner makes the in-close save to keep it 1-1. It's been a busy period both ways and Skinner's stopped 12 of 13 in this period so far from the Blues.

8:56: A massive five-on-three stop for the Oilers penalty kill! Draisaitl comes out of the box for a breakaway and tries to stretch out Binnington, but he can't wrap his backhand around the Blues' netminder.

10:56: Leon Draisaitl takes a tripping call. The Oilers will be down five-on-three for 1:11.

11:35: Blues goal. Brayden Schenn scores on a one-timer on the power play. After Edmonton challenges for goaltender interference for Alexey Toropchenko making contact with the netminder's pad with his stick inside the blue paint, it's determined there's no interference, so the Oilers will now be shorthanded. 1-1.

13:23: KANE SCRAPS WITH TUCKER! A good fight for Evander, but he takes an extra two minutes for taking the helmet off the Blues' enforcer. Power play to the Blues.

13:49: NO GOAL! For the second time tonight, Edmonton has one taken back – this time by review. St. Louis challenges Nugent-Hopkins' goal for goaltender interference on Zach Hyman, who came in contact with Binnington on Nuge's previous shot, and the call is overturned. It's back to being a 1-0 game.

20:00: The second period is underway!

FIRST PERIOD

0.0: AFTER 1 | Edmonton 1, St. Louis 0. The Oilers limit the Blues to six shots and score once through Ekholm – even having one for Kane waved off by the officials for a high stick.

3:47: NO GOAL! The referees wave off what would've been Evander Kane's first goal in six weeks for a high-stick. It hit the shaft of the winger's stick, but there's not enough to overturn the call there and it remains 1-0 for the Oilers.

12:55: STAY HOT, MATTIAS EKHOLM! The Swede hammers a one-timer from the top of the zone and finishes off Connor Brown's hard pass with force to extend his point streak to five games and reach 40 points this season, with a plus-41 rating.

Brown and Carrick get the assists on Ekholm's ninth of the season. 1-0 Oilers.

Ekholm hits 40 points with a long one-timer through traffic

13:50: Skinner frustrates Kyrou with a save on a two-on-one. The Oiler netminder's been sharp early.

15:34: Stuart Skinner makes two saves on Colton Parayko, who found two good chances around Edmonton's net.

18:47: Jake Neighbours benefits from a puck hitting Connor McDavid's skate in the neutral zone by forcing Stuart Skinner into an early save after dangling around Mattias Ekholm.
