THIRD PERIOD

0.0: THE OILERS TAKE GAME 5! ONE GAME AWAY FROM THE STANLEY CUP FINAL!

The Stars grabbed a goal late, but Edmonton's effort was stretched over the full 60 minutes to take a 3-2 series lead over the Stars in the Western Conference Final behind a pair of goals from Nugent-Hopkins, Philip Broberg's first-career playoff goal and 19 saves from Stuart Skinner in the 3-1 victory.

Edmonton can punch their ticket to the Cup Final with a win on home ice on Sunday night, which is exactly where they want Dallas. It's going to be an exciting night!

5:51: Dallas gets a goal back. Wyatt Johnston puts away the awkward deflection on the point shot that goes top-shelf. 3-1 Oilers.

10:59: Skinner again! He stops Sam Steel with a comfortable reaction save from the slot on a one-timer.

SECOND PERIOD

0.0: The Oilers kill off the Stars' second power play with a few good saves from Stuart Skinner and take a three-goal lead into the second intermission after Broberg picked up his first playoff goal and Nuge netted his second of the night.

2:44: Brett Kulak is called for holding Wyatt Johnston as he rounded the Oilers' net looking to wrap it in front. Dallas is 0-for-1 tonight.

9:06: Ryan McLeod gets chopped down at the feet by Matt Duchene for a penalty. Edmonton is already 2-for-2 tonight.

14:49: BROBERG AHEAD! BATTEN DOWN THE HATCHES! Philip Broberg makes it 3-0 on a seeing-eye shot from the point that goes through traffic and in off the far post for the first playoff goal of his career. Edmonton extends their lead to three, and now, it's about how they can keep this momentum going and keep the Stars quiet.

The longest-tenured Oiler has a pair tonight on the power play, with Evan Bouchard getting his second assist and Leon Draisaitl picking up the secondary helper with the unlocking feed from inside the Stars' blueline to leave Nuge wide open in the slot off the rush.

12:06: The Stars earn a great chance on a strong shift in Edmonton's zone after it came loose to Tyler Seguin in the left circle, but Brett Kulak came up with the block in front.

20:00: GAME ON! A chance for one of these teams to pull within one win of the Stanley Cup Final.
