4:26: Can't come any closer for the Oilers. The puck trickled behind Talbot to create a rugby scrum in the crease that was waved 'no goal' by the official, who was standing over the crossbar trying to get a glimpse of the puck through all the bodies in the blue paint. A quick review confirms it didn't cross the line. Connor McDavid & the Oilers looked convinced it was over, but not the officials or the Situation Room in Toronto. It remains 2-0 Kings.
5:03: Well. That's a tough one to stop. Adrian Kempe gets another on a sweet set of hand-eye coordination by batting the puck out of mid-air on the fly when Bouchard looked to have broken up a three-on-two rush. 2-0 Kings.
12:01: Hyman finds space in front off a McDavid pass to turn around and force Talbot into squeezing the winger's effort shut by closing the small opening over his left pad. A good save from the LA netminder as the power play goes unanswered for Edmonton.
13:25: After going 3-for-4 on the power play in Game 1, the Oilers go to the man advantage with the chance to tie it up. Quinton Byfield is the guilty party for tripping Brett Kulak.
15:11: Edmonton almost gets it back on a misplayed puck by Talbot behind the Kings' net that was picked off by McLeod to create a chance for Evander Kane alone in front, who tried to wrap it inside the near post but couldn't complete it. That was an excellent follow-up shift from the third line to get Edmonton their first shots of the game.
16:41: Kings quickly grab the lead off an Oilers turnover. Evan Bouchard attempts a banked breakout attempt to Foegele that misses and is intercepted by Anze Kopitar before Skinner is beaten low glove by Adrian Kempe from between the circles. 1-0 for LA.
20:00: GAME ON! It's the same lineups and same goaltenders for the Oilers & Kings for Game 2, where Edmonton can take a 2-0 advantage back to LA with a victory tonight. Fans inside are already getting on top of Talbot with the chants as the vibrations built up to puck drop.
20:00: LFG Oil Country 👊
