Coach McLellan said following Friday's practice that trio will likely stay together on Saturday night in Dallas.
"They were certainly dangerous after we made the switch," he said. "Jesse looked very confident in that situation. He'll likely get another chance there."
Though McDavid has played the bulk of his NHL career with Jordan Eberle on his right side, he sees opportunity with the young Finn as well.
"He's got a lot of good tools and we'll see what we can do," McDavid said. "I look forward for the chance to be able to play with him."
Communication will be a bit of a challenge, as Puljujärvi's English skills are still in a development phase, but both young guns are well spoken in the language of hockey.
"I've just got to talk to him, and that's hard because he doesn't speak much English," McDavid laughed. "We'll figure it out, though."
