The Edmonton Oilers, along with the rest of the NHL, have released their list of protected players ahead of the 2017 NHL Expansion Draft which will take place June 21.
Each club had the option to protect seven forwards, three defencemen and a goalie, or eight skaters and a goalie. All players with continuing and effective no-movement clauses had to be protected by their teams. All first and second-year pros are exempt from selection, as are unsigned draft picks.
The Las Vegas Golden Knights have until 8 a.m. MT on Wednesday to submit their 30 expansion selections, including one from each team and a minimum of 14 forwards, nine defencemen and three goalies from the lists of available players.
Vegas' selections will be revealed at the 2017 NHL Awards and NHL Expansion Draft presented by T-Mobile on Wednesday night.
