The Edmonton Oilers have recalled defenceman Ben Betker from the AHL's Bakersfield Condors.

Betker, 22, was originally drafted by the Oilers in the sixth round, 158th overall, of the 2013 NHL Draft. The native of Cranbrook, B.C., is in his second year as a professional, after spending most of 2015-16 with the ECHL's Norfolk Admirals, where he registered 17 points (3G, 14A) in 49 games. He also appeared in 14 games with Bakersfield last year, registering two assists.
At 6'6", 228 lbs, Betker played three full seasons in the WHL with the Everett Silvertips from 2012-15, after appearing in one game with Portland in 2011-12. The blueliner was an alternate captain with Everett in his final WHL season.
The Oilers have also placed defenceman Mark Fayne on injured reserve.
