For the first time ever, the Oilers will hold their training camp at the team's new home arena, Rogers Place, starting on September 22.
On-ice sessions will commence Friday, September 23 at both Rogers Place and the Community Rink, where players will hit the ice led by members of the Oilers coaching staff. Head coach Todd McLellan and assistant coach Jay Woodcroft are with Team North America at the World Cup of Hockey. Assistant coaches Jim Johnson, Ian Herbers and goaltending coach Dustin Schwartz will run on-ice sessions until their return.
The Oilers open their 2016 pre-season schedule on September 26 against the Calgary Flames with split squads facing off in both Edmonton and Calgary.

The Oilers open the 2016-17 regular season on Wednesday, October 12, the opening night of the NHL regular season. It will mark Edmonton's first home opener at Rogers Place, as the Oilers face off against their provincial rivals, the Calgary Flames at 8:00pm.
