PRE-GAME REPORT

NASHVILLE, TN - The Oilers offence is looking to continue making noise in the Music City.
In two games against the Predators this season, Edmonton has scored a combined 13 goals in the home-and-away series. To keep the onslaught rolling, the Oilers will maintain the top line of Leon Draisaitl, Connor McDavid, and Zach Hyman together after the trio combined for all six goals and 13 points in Nashville less than a week ago.
The trio wouldn't talk much about the performance after the game, as they were more concerned about the two points the Oilers got in the standings, but those who watched from the bench couldn't help but be impressed.
"I mean obviously they're incredible players, probably the best players in the league," Dylan Holloway said. "I think the biggest thing though is just their preparation, and it's not even just before playing the Predators, it's before playing every game. They take every game seriously and every game is like a big game. Their preparation I think is what leads them to have the success that they're having. I think that's the biggest thing."
The Oilers will turn to
Jack Campbell once again between the pipes
, with the goaltender sporting a perfect 2-0 record against the Predators this season. Stuart Skinner and his
freshly-inked new contract
will watch from the bench as the Oilers starter tries to sweep the season series against Nashville.

CENTRE OF ATTENTION

Highly touted Oilers prospect Dylan Holloway is still finding his feet at the NHL level, and on Monday in Nashville, he will find himself at centre between Jesse Puljujarvi and Warren Foegele.
The 21-year-old is coming off an impressive performance against the Anaheim Ducks where he showed off a lot of the skills that allowed him to be selected 14th overall back in 2020. Holloway played 12:44 in the contest and recorded two shots and a plus-1 rating, a performance that saw him elevated to a line with Leon Draisaitl and Zach Hyman near the end of the contest.
The Calgary, AB product acknowledged that the game was one of the better ones of his young career.
"I think just a bunch of things. Just feeling good, feeling a bit more confident, had a little more puck touches too, so I think any time you can get a couple of puck touches early in the game it kind of makes you feel a bit better out there," Holloway said. "I'm learning a lot in the first part of the year here and just try to incorporate that into my game."

Holloway has plenty of experience at the centre-ice position throughout his young career. He says he split time between centre and wing while at the University of Wisconsin and has played a handful of games at the position for the Oilers earlier in the season.
"I've played them pretty evenly throughout my career, so I kind of like centre a little bit better," Holloway said. "You buzz around, get more touches, but I like playing wing too, but I'm excited to play center tonight."
Holloway will settle in between a couple sizeable forward in Puljujarvi and Foegele. The trio is hoping to provide some solid depth in behind the dominant Oilers top line.
"(We want to) use our size and speed. I think that's the biggest thing for us," Holloway said. "I'm excited for the line. I think we all complement each other really well, so I think it should be fun to play with them. I think the big thing is just get the puck in on the forecheck, play simple and kind of go to work down low."
After a dynamic pre-season where Holloway finished with four goals and two assists in four games, offence has proven to be a little harder to come by against full-time NHL players. In 28 games, the rookie has recorded one goal and three assists. Holloway realizes his role isn't entirely about offence in the young portion of his career. He needs to earn the trust of his coaching staff and learn how to be a pro as he blossoms into a legitimate National Hockey League player.
"Obviously my stats aren't great but I think it's bigger than that. I just have to worry about how to play the game at this level and worry about playing it right before I worry about anything else," Holloway said. "I think I've learned a lot. I've been asking a bunch of guys questions, and they've been helping me out a bunch and kind of how to approach the game at this level."
"It's not even just on the ice stuff, it's off the ice stuff," he added. "Our schedule is so busy and playing every other night in different cities, so I think the biggest thing is just take in what I can, and that's what I've been doing."

PREVIEW

OILERS vs. PREDATORS
STREAM: 6:00 p.m. MT; televised on Sportsnet
Oilers Team Scope
The Oilers head back to the road looking for a spark after a two-game home stand where they only collected one out of a possible four points against the St. Louis Blues and the Anaheim Ducks.
The team's most recent contest saw them pour 49 shots on Ducks goaltender Lukas Dostal, however it was not enough as Anaheim escaped with a 4-3 victory.
There may be no better place for the Oilers to get back on track than Nashville, which was recently the site of an Oilers 6-3 victory back on Dec. 13. The Oilers top line of Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl and Zach Hyman combined for 13 points on the evening and scored all six Oilers goals.
Hyman potted a late empty netter to cap off his first ever NHL hat trick, while Leon Draisaitl continued his absurd run of form over the Predators. The German superstar notched two goals and three assists on the evening, giving him 10 points in two games against Nashville this year and 30 in his last 11 games against the Music City club overall.
Jack Campbell started the contest, turning away 29 of 32 shots to pick up his eight victory of the season and second against the Predators.
Predators Team Scope
Edmonton's opponent comes into Monday night's contest with a 12-13-4 record and are fresh off a 3-1 defeat to the defending Stanley Cup Champion Colorado Avalanche.
The Predators lone goal was scored by former Avalanche third-overall pick Matt Duchene, who picked up his seventh of the season, after notching a career-high 41 goals back in 2021-22. The Avs offence was lead by Norris Trophy winner Cale Makar, who scored the game clinching empty-net goal and assisted on Colorado's opening tally by Mikko Rantanen.
Nashville starter Juuse Saros turned away 27 of 29 Colorado shots to bring his record to 9-9-4 on the season.
"Saros has been great every single night and so has [Lankinen]. It definitely helps to have goalies like them, but we've got to make sure we find a way to win more hockey games," Nino Neiderreiter said after the game. "I mean tonight we definitely did a couple of good things, but we've got to make sure we play a full 60-minute hockey game."
So far this season, the Predators have scored a solid seven goals in two games against the Oilers, however they have also conceded 13 in to the Blue & Orange over that stretch. Filip Forsberg has lead the way offensively against the Oilers with a goal and four assists, while Roman Josi has contributed four assists as well in the two head-to-head contests this season.
