EDMONTON, AB - EdmontonOilers.com's Prospect Profile series ahead of the 2020 NHL Draft will be bookended by two of the top-ranked prospects from the Western Hockey League.
Seth Jarvis of the Portland Winterhawks,
profiled on Aug. 24
, may be the top-rated WHL forward heading into the Tuesday and Wednesday's virtual event, ranked 11th among North American skaters by NHL Central Scouting. However, the Prince Albert Raiders boast the top-ranked WHL prospect outright in defenceman Kaiden Guhle.
Central Scouting's eighth-ranked skater has played two full seasons with the Saskatchewan squad, putting up 11 goals and 29 assists with a +23 rating in 64 games prior to the abrupt end to the 2019-20 campaign due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Sherwood Park native is regarded as a talented two-way defenceman with good skating ability and a hard shot. He is the younger brother of Anaheim Ducks defence prospect Brendan Guhle.
The 6-foot-3, 187-pound rearguard just edged out Braden Schneider for the top ranking among WHL defencemen, with the Brandon Wheat Kings blueliner checking in at the ninth position among North American skaters.
"Guhle maybe has a little bit more of an offensive upside and that's why we gave him the nod," Central Scouting's WHL expert John Williams told NHL.com's Mike Morreale. "They're ranked very high and each has a chance to be very good NHL player."
Guhle had one assist and a +6 rating in five games with Hockey Canada at the 2019 Hlinka Gretzky Cup and was invited to this past summer's virtual development camp for the upcoming World Junior Championship.
