EDMONTON, AB - The Edmonton Oilers have announced details for their 2021 Rookie Camp, including the roster, practice schedule and games against the Flames scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 18 at Rogers Place and Monday, Sept. 20 in Calgary.
Oilers Rookie Camp will open on Wednesday, Sept. 15 with medicals and fitness testing at Rogers Place. The roster roster features 28 players (three goaltenders, nine defencemen and 16 forwards).
The Rookie Camp roster includes 18 Oilers draft picks, including 2021 first-round selection Xavier Bourgault (22nd overall) and three other 2021 picks: Jake Chiasson (116th overall), Matvei Petrov (180th overall) and Max Wanner (212th overall).
The roster will also feature 2020 draft picks Dylan Holloway (14th overall) and Tyler Tullio (126th overall) making their first Oilers camp appearances. Both players signed their entry-level contracts earlier this year, Holloway in April and Tullio this past Sunday.
Rookie Camp will also include three 2019 draft picks: Philip Broberg (8th overall), Raphael Lavoie (38th overall) and Ilya Konovalov (85th overall), as well as two selections from the 2018 event: Olivier Rodrigue (62nd overall) and Michael Kesselring (164th overall).
The 2017 Oilers draft class will be well represented by Dmitri Samorukov (84th overall), Ostap Safin (115th overall), Kirill Maksimov (146th overall) and Philip Kemp (208th overall), while 2016 third-round selections Markus Niemelainen (63rd overall) and Filip Berglund (91st overall) will also participate.
The Rookie Camp games between the Oilers and Flames will not be open to the public but will be streamed live on EdmontonOilers.com at 5pm MT on Sept. 18 and 6pm MT on Sept. 20.
Following the conclusion of Rookie Camp, select players will be invited to attend Oilers Training Camp starting on Wednesday, Sept. 22. The Oilers pre-season opener is Sunday, Sept. 26 in Calgary.
