EDMONTON, AB - Oilers defenceman Duncan Keith has announced his retirement.
Keith, 38, appeared in 64 games during his only season as an Oiler after being acquired from the Chicago Blackhawks on July 12, 2021. A veteran presence in the dressing room and on the club's back end, Keith averaged 19:44 time on ice per game during the regular season, ranked second in takeaways and third in hits while mentoring the team's younger defencemen.
He also appeared in all 16 playoff games for the club, including the 150th post-season game of his NHL career during the Western Conference Final against the Colorado Avalanche.
