EDMONTON, AB - The National Hockey League has postponed the Edmonton Oilers remaining three games before the holiday break, the League announced Sunday afternoon.
Over concerns relating to cross-border travel and the fluid nature of federal travel restrictions, the NHL made the decision to postpone all games involving Canadian-based teams playing U.S.-based teams between Monday, Dec. 20 and the beginning of the League's holiday break on Thursday, Dec. 23.
The Oilers were scheduled to host the Anaheim Ducks at Rogers Place on Monday, Dec. 20 before traveling to California to close out their pre-Christmas schedule with a back-to-back against the Los Angeles Kings on Wednesday, Dec. 22 and the San Jose Sharks on Thursday, Dec. 23.
The postponed games will be rescheduled later this season and the Oilers are in the process of communicating with all ticket holders for Monday's game.
