EDMONTON, AB - The Edmonton Oilers have assigned defenceman Caleb Jones to the American Hockey League's Bakersfield Condors.
Jones, 21, appeared in 17 games for the Oilers this season, posting six points (1G, 5A), six penalty minutes and a -9 plus-minus rating.
The 6'1", 194-pound defenceman was recalled from Bakersfield on Dec. 12, appearing in his first NHL game on Dec. 14 vs. Philadelphia, and scoring his first NHL goal on Dec. 29 vs. San Jose.
A native of Arlington, TX, Jones started the season with Bakersfield, posting 12 points (2G, 10A) in 21 games, with six penalty minutes and a +3 plus-minus rating. At the time of this recall, he was Bakersfield's top scoring defenceman.
Jones is in his second professional season with the Oilers organization and was Edmonton's fourth-round selection, 117th overall, at the 2015 NHL Draft.
