The Oilers have bought out the contract of James Neal after the forward cleared waivers on Wednesday

EDMONTON, AB - The Edmonton Oilers have bought out the contract of James Neal after the forward cleared waivers on Wednesday.
With two years remaining on his $5.75 million AAV contract, the Oilers will carry a $1.917 million cap hit until the end of the 2024-25 season.
