EDMONTON, AB - The Oilers have loaned forward Tyler Benson to the GCK Lions of the Swiss League for the beginning of the 2020-21 season.
The 22-year-old Edmonton native is two seasons into his professional career, tallying nine goals and 27 assists in 47 games with the Bakersfield Condors during the halted 2019-20 AHL season. He was also selected as an AHL all-star in January.
Benson was named to the AHL's all-rookie team in 2018-19 after he scored 15 goals and 51 assists in 68 games with the Condors. He also scored one goal and six assists in 10 post-season contests during the 2019 AHL Playoffs.
Benson, who was selected 32nd overall at the 2016 NHL Draft, made his Oilers debut this past season, suiting up for seven games with his hometown team and recording one assist. He was also on Edmonton's Return To Play roster this summer.
