RELEASE: Oilers recall Niemeläinen

EDMONTON, AB - The Edmonton Oilers have recalled defenceman Markus Niemelainen from the Bakersfield Condors.
Niemelainen has suited up for 14 games in the AHL with the Condors this season, scoring a goal and adding two assists. The defenceman from Kuopio, Finland was drafted in the third round, 63rd overall by the Oilers at the 2016 NHL Draft.
The Oilers have also placed defenceman Cody Ceci into COVID protocol and defenceman Duncan Keith on Injured Reserve. Keith left the Nov. 23 game in Dallas with an upper-body injury.
