EDMONTON, AB - The Edmonton Oilers have signed free agent forward Anton Burdasov to a professional tryout. He will be joining the Oilers at training camp immediately.
There are now 47 players at Oilers training camp, including five goaltenders, 14 defencemen and 28 forwards.
Burdasov, 28, is a veteran of ten seasons in the KHL, with Traktor Chelyabinsk, SKA St. Petersburg, Avangard Omsk, CSKA Moscow and Salavat Yulaev Ufa. Over 386 regular season KHL games, he posted 176 points (89G, 87A), 265 penalty minutes and a +13 plus-minus rating. In 89 KHL playoff games, he has 30 points (16G, 14A), 91 penalty minutes and a +3 plus minus rating. He helped SKA St. Petersburg capture the KHL Championship in 2015.
This past season, the 6'2", 227-pound forward posted 31 points (19G, 12A), 114 penalty minutes and a -15 plus-minus rating with Ufa. Burdasov also played in the 2019 KHL All-Star Game.
A native of Chelyabinsk, Burdasov won gold with Russia at the 2011 World Junior Hockey Championship in Buffalo, NY and captured a silver medal at the 2009 U18 Hlinka Cup (now the Hlinka Gretzky Cup).
