The Czech-born German national played four seasons with Munich of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga before signing with the Blackhawks for the 2018-19 campaign. He played all 82 games in his rookie season and tallied 13 goals with 24 assists.
Kahun was traded from Chicago to Pittsburgh in June 2019 and scored 10 goals and 17 assists in 50 games with the Penguins last season before getting dealt to the Sabres prior to the trade deadline. He picked up two goals and two assists in six games with Buffalo before the season pause.
