EDMONTON, AB - The Oilers have signed forward Mattias Janmark to a one-year contract with an average annual value (AAV) of $1.25 million, the team announced Sunday.
Seeing action in 67 games with the Vegas Golden Knights last season, Janmark (6-foot-1, 205 pounds) tallied 25 points (9G, 16A) along with 21 penalty minutes and a plus-three rating.
Originally selected 79th overall by the Detroit Red Wings in the 2013 NHL Draft, the Stockholm, Sweden product was traded to the Dallas Stars in 2015 and played 73 games in first NHL season with 15 goals and 29 points.
Following four seasons and 109 points (46G, 63A) over 297 games with the Stars, Janmark signed as a free agent with the Chicago Blackhawks in October 2020. He collected 19 points (10G, 9A) over 41 games before getting traded by Chicago to Vegas in April 2021.
While with the Golden Knights, he appeared in 82 total regular season games, scoring 10 goals and 30 points, along with 16 playoff appearances with four goals and eight points.
Over his six-year, 420-game NHL career to date, the 29-year-old has 158 points (66G, 92A). The veteran forward also has another 24 points (8G, 16A) in 61 career playoff appearances including a hat trick in Vegas' game-seven, first-round win over the Minnesota Wild in May 2021.
