EDMONTON, AB - The Oilers have signed forward Noah Philp from the University of Alberta Golden Bears to a one-year contract beginning with the 2022-23 season. Philp will join the AHL's Bakersfield Condors on an amateur tryout contract (ATO) for the remainder of the current season.
Philp (6-foot-3, 198 pounds) recently completed his third year at the University of Alberta, scoring eight goals and three assists in eight regular season games. The 23-year-old Canmore native scored three goals and seven assists in four playoff games, helping the Golden Bears win the Canada West title and reach the U Sports University Cup Final.
In three seasons at the U of A, Philp accumulated 20 goals and 18 assists in 36 career games.
Prior to his time with the Golden Bears, Philp spent four seasons in the Western Hockey League (WHL) with the Kootenay Ice and Seattle Thunderbirds, scoring 54 goals and 112 assists in 259 games.
